Dear Division 2 parents and students,
Each week I will give a list of activities to be done, during the week, in addition to larger ongoing projects. Thank you to those who have already submitted your career project. I will be typically assigning seven activities a week that you can select five of. This shorter week you only need to complete 4. Math will be slightly different, as I will give specific directions, give links to videos or do a lesson via Zoom. Sometime this coming week students will pick up their supplies, which includes their math books and geometry sets, from Gibsons Elementary. Once we have those supplies we will be better equipped to progress through units. I will offer office hours between 10-11 Monday to Thursday. Division 2 Week Plan April 14-April 17, 2020:
• Write a journal entry, as to how you are feeling and what you have been doing in isolation.
• View an advertisement on TV, online, or in a magazine. Explain how the creators try to influence their audience. Who is their audience? How might other audiences respond? What information is missing or mis-represented?
• Interview a family member or friend about an experience they had or something they know a lot about. Take notes. How will you share what you learned with others?
• Choose a character from a book. Design a T-shirt for the character to wear or a picture with thought bubbles that tell something about what that character thinks/does.
• Read a story and write a summary of the story (may be used for later assignment on book reviews)
• Record yourself playing your instrument and send that video to Mr. Angelus. Remember his rules: no faces and no full names on the recording. Say your first name and the title of the piece you are playing.
• Conduct a Zoom meeting with at least 3 in a group and each person tell their 2 favourite places on the Sunshine Coast and why. Be ready to tell about, memories, experiences and things of particular interest.
